Jacob Godar opened the doors to Scooter’s Lawn Care in 2014 as a one-man band. Very quickly in the first year, Scooter’s Lawn Care hired its first employee: Jacob’s father, Rich. By the end of 2015, the one-man band had become a three-man crew.
At the start of 2017, we are operating one full-time lawn care crew, one full-time large project crew, one professional chemical application crew, and two seasonal snow plowing crews. We have a full-time office administrator, a marketing director, and an estimator/project designer. We continue to grow and are always looking for the very best lawn and landscape professionals to join our team.

Jacob Godar is the owner and Chief Executive Officer of Scooter’s Lawn Care, Inc. In 2014, he had a vision to create a professional company that serves its customers with more reliability and convenience than other companies were offering. As he started building Scooter’s Lawn Care, he quickly realized that this was more than a personal vision; we’re meeting a very real need.

Can you still provide service if I’m outside of your service area?
We service all of Springfield, Chatham, Sherman, Riverton, and Rochester, Illinois. We provide limited service in Jacksonville, Illinois. We occasionally receive estimate requests from people outside of these areas, at a reasonable distance. If you are seeking an estimate on a large project, we may be able to service you with an additional charge for the initial estimate and drive time during the project. Do you offer bi-weekly or one-time lawn care?
We place our highest focus on lawn health. Our team of trained lawn care professionals know the best height and frequency to mow a lawn during each part of the lawn care season. Occasionally, new customers request bi-weekly or irregular service. Unfortunately, we only offer weekly lawn care on a pre-scheduled service route. This is necessary to maintain your best looking lawn, but we must also stay fair to our other customers. We pride ourselves on promptness and reliability, so our efficiently routed schedule guarantees our customers always know when to expect us.
Please note: during unseasonably dry parts of the season or toward the end of the season, we’ll use our professional judgment to adjust your mowing schedule as needed. This shift can result in bi-weekly service, if it’s the healthiest option for your lawn.
What are your payment options?
We accept cash or check as a deposit or final payment on large projects. Otherwise, we offer a secure Customer Portal that gives our customers online access to their account 24/7. For all services, we require a valid debit or credit card on file in your account before service can be scheduled. For weekly or seasonal service, we offer convenient, automatic charges after service is complete. Deposits are required on large projects, and all remaining balances are to be paid at the completion of each job.
